The FBI has been set up to help promote flute bands in a positive and constructive manner. For many years now the media have been having a field day reporting the actions of misbehaving flute bands, 99% of these reports are false. It is our aim to set the record straight. To let the modern world know that flute bands are not made up of bigoted, drunken hooligans.
We aim to publicise flute bands. Not only standing shoulder to shoulder with them but also working hand in hand with them. We also aim to promote flute bands. One objective is to have bands parading in the country towns of Great Britain. Come to think of it, when did places like Shepton Mallet, Brighton or Thurnscoe last see a flute band on parade? Most villages and towns will only see brass bands or BB bands on Remembrance Sunday. We aim to introduce the modern day flute band to them. Let them also enjoy what we at FBI have been enjoying for years.
FBI hopes to start the following initiatives, remember these initiatives can only succeed with the help of flute bands:
- A sheet music library.
- A band twinning program.
- Help with Lottery grant applications.
- Uniting bands.
- Organising band parades.
- Discount on musical equipment with nominated suppliers.
- Keeping you updated, via our mailing list, on what's relevant to the flute band.
